This is my first major post in my blogs. Hope this will be a great success. Here, I am writing about my hometown - Thrissur. It was just a while ago that I planned to write about my hometown. So, let's start. Thrissur, popularly referred to as the Cultural Capital of Kerala, is a major city located in the central part of the state. It is one among the six municipal corporations in Kerala, along with Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kochi, Kozhikode and Kannur. It is also the headquarters of Thrissur district, which spans over 3,022 sq.km in area. It is the fourth-largest city by both area and population in Kerala; and the 12th largest city in India by area and 20th largest by population. It is located around 300 km north of Thiruvananthapuram, the executive & legislative capital of Kerala, and 80 km north of Kochi, the economic & judicial capital.
